In addition to managing the commercial division, John brokers investment properties, both commercial & multi-family properties in Orange County and surrounding counties in California. John has over 18 years of experience in the real estate industry and has brokered hundreds of transactions.
Living and working along the Southern California coast since birth, Chris Cathcart has gained intimate knowledge of coastal commercial real estate communities. He is among the leaders in commercial real estate experience and knowledge regarding sales, leasing, and management in the beach cities.
Chris Cathcart, the First Team Commercial representative in Laguna Beach, has more than 18 years of commercial real estate experience, from acquisitions and leasing to rehabs and dispositions. Mr. Cathcart has successfully negotiated over 100 commercial leases and has been involved in the acquisition, management and re-positioning of over $40 million in coastal commercial assets. His years of experience and knowledge base have paved the way into county and region wide markets. He continues to specialize in the sale, leasing and management of neighborhood retail, free-standing and strip center properties. Chris has also utilized his knowledge and experience to become a specialist in Multi-Family investment properties.
In addition, Mr. Cathcart has renovated various residential properties, performed commercial construction and rehabilitation, managed mixed use and multi-family residential apartments and has been a partner in successful industrial and land investments.
Mr. Cathcart attended California State University Fullerton in Orange County, CA where he majored in Business Communication and has maintained his active California real estate sales person license in good standing since 1993.
David Scott has been with First Team for 13 years. He focuses on multifamily, retail, office, and mixed use properties. He has represented tenants and landlords in leasing class A, B, and C space here in Orange County. He has sold industrial buildings in L.A. County, Office Buildings and Retail Strip Centers in Orange County. He has worked on projects that require Phase II environmental surveys and remediation and obtained closed site reports on two different transactions in L.A. County. He has listed and sold retail food businesses in Orange County. He has a loyal base of commercial and residential clients in Southern California that he has developed over his 20+ years in real estate.
David has been in Commercial Real Estate since 1985. He is the past vice president of a retail development company. While in that position David participated in the development of a dozen retail shopping centers. His responsibilities were wide ranging; from acquisition and procuring entitlements to pre-leasing and marketing the properties. He worked with the architects, the engineers, the municipalities, the contractors, the tenants, and finally the investors to be sure that the project came in on time and on budget. Prior to that, he worked for Andy Granatelli as a District Manager for Tuneup Masters in San Diego, El Centro and Yuma, AZ. He managed 60 employees over 14 retail locations; He was in charge of training, hiring, firing, promotions, and customer service. During his tenure with Tuneup Masters he set several sales records and District Manager of the Month several times.
He is married, to Connie, whom he met at Occidental. This year will be their 38th year of marriage.Dave and Connie have two children. Kristin, who is working a research firm in Tustin. Michael (31) is working for Capitol One in Virginia.
Dave enjoys fixing cars, home remodeling, an occasional game of golf, and reading a good book. He would like to spend more time in the Northeast in the fall and more time in the mountains during the summer.Dave volunteers at his church; He is a past President and is currently overseeing the construction of a $4.5 million dollar children’s ministry building. He has also led several of the Men’s activities and assisted with the middle school boys who attend the youth programs on Wednesday evenings.

California Broker and Attorney
Fred Hayes, California broker and attorney (and licensed Nevada broker-salesperson) has represented clients in transactions in Orange, Riverside, Imperial, San Bernardino and Sacramento counties. Fred Hayes is experienced in short sales, REO transactions, land sales, strip centers, golf course sales and 1031 exchanges.
Fred's background includes practicing law for over twenty years (particularly in real estate and construction law), real estate sales, and real estate development.
Fred's family has a long tradition in real estate. His mother and father both worked as real estate brokers and attorneys. Both of his grandfathers were real estate brokers. His great grandfather, Chauncey Hayes, was a broker in North San Diego County in the late 19th century and early 20th century; Chauncey urged potential buyers to seize beach front property when it could have been bought for as little as $25 a lot!
Fred graduated from Cal-State Fullerton in 1979. He obtained a Juris Doctorate and was admitted to the California Bar in 1987. He has lived and worked in North Orange County since 1977.
